(NAPSI)-In the aftermath of 9/11, Americans in record numbers are revving up engines to discover the wonders of their own country. According to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association, sales of motorhomes were up over 15 percent for the first quarter of 2002 and reservations for RV rentals from January through June were up 33 percent compared to the same period in 2001.
No travel series is more appropriate for this time than the new eight-volume Unofficial Guides to the Best RV and Tent Campgrounds. These guides review and rate over 2,500 public and private campgrounds across the country, and list more than 7,500 others. The thorough reviews rate each campground for everything from beauty to privacy, spaciousness, noise level, security, cleanliness, nearby activities and even bug control. Each campground is personally inspected by a professional travel writer who does not solicit ads, and is not rewarded by commissions.
Separate ratings are included for RV and tent sites and a detailed profile appears for each. Awards have been given to the best campgrounds in categories including most beautiful, most romantic and best for families.
The eight-volume series includes the comprehensive Unofficial Guide to the Best RV and Tent Campgrounds in the U.S.A. Regional editions include California and the West, the Northwest and the Central Plains, the Great Lake States, the Mid-Atlantic States, the Northeast, Florida and the Southeast and the Southwest and South Central Plains.
